Subaru Impreza – WRX STi
What came to us on the back of a trailer, was almost unrecognisable compared to the WRX we have now. The car has suffered such bad corrosion that we were really scratching our heads whether or not we can keep it. After trawling through eBay we found a near mint condition rolling shell from a STi, which came to us at a bargain of a price!
After much debate and coffee, we decided we’d create a frankenstein of the two cars. Putting mostly everything from the original WRX onto the rolling shell of the STi. The STi’s chassis underneath was almost pristine, giving us the best headstart at restoring this. Now a year down the line and we’re almost ready to take the car for it’s MOT. We’ve sealed all the underneath, restored all brake lines, suspension arms / struts, new full exhaust, new rotors and pads, resprayed all the panels and the rims.. It’s been a big one but a great process to see where it’s at today.
One of the projects that we’ll remember for ever!
